Avanlee can sync health data from Apple Health or Google Health, or you can enter it manually. No matter which method you prefer, all of your essential wellness information lives securely in one central place. For more information on the Health Tracking module, go to Health Tracking.
Manually Add Health Data
Don't have a tracking device? You can manually enter your health data for each metric instead. Select the metric, click Add Entry below the graph, and enter your data details.
Sync Your Health Data
You can choose sync your health data using one of the following options:
Apple Health: Available on iPhone and iPad only. Health data syncs in the background. New data can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to appear in app.
Google Health: Available on iPhone and Android. Health data is pushed from Google's servers, and usually appears within minutes.
To sync a metric, click into it, scroll to the bottom, and select your data source under Data Source. Or use the blue Set Sync Sources button at the bottom of the Health Tracking page to set multiple at once.
Once a metric is synced, manual entry for it is turned off. To go back to entering it by hand, click Stop Syncing.
Data Stopped Syncing
Please note that your health data is likely still syncing, it just takes a little time! However, if your health data does look like it's behind, read below on what's likely happening, depending on how your data syncs.
Apple Health Sync
Syncing from Apple Health, only updates when the phone gives the app time in the background, so gaps of a few hours are normal. Expect updates around every 20 minutes. The exact timing depends on your phone’s battery, connection, and active background tasks.
Tips that help: Keep your phone on Wi-Fi and charged.
Google Health Sync
A Google Health sync includes Fitbit, Pixel Watch, and other connected devices. Health data comes to us from Google's own servers, not directly from your phone. Therefore, the app doesn't need to be open for it to update. However, it still depends on the device reaching Google first, which is usually just a few minutes.
Tips that help: Open device's app (ex: Fitbit app).
Metric Updates
The following metrics only update about once a day, regardless of the device you use:
Active Energy Burned
Move Time
Exercise Time
VO2 Max
Oxygen Saturation
These metrics only update about once a day because of a limitation of how Google publishes that data.
Data Not Updating from Someone Else's Device
If someone else in the Care Hub is set as the source for a metric, their device is the one syncing the data. When the health data is not updating from someone else's device sync, there's no way to force a refresh from your side; the fastest way to get updated numbers is having them open the Avanlee App on their own phone.
Google Health Re-Login
You could be asked to log in to Google again. Seeing this request doesn't necessarily mean anything went wrong. Google periodically requires reauthorization for connected accounts, separate from anything happening in the app. Signing back in will restore the sync and your synced data is not affected.
