Connecting Your Family in the Care Hub

How to manage your Care Hub account, including members, permissions, and multiple accounts

Written by Jennifer Fairchild

Care Hubs are your digital home away from home in the Avanlee App. Here you’ll find your family members, friends, and care receivers if you choose to add them.

Reminder: You need to have an active subscription to add members to your care hub or to create multiple care hubs.

Care Hub Account

To view your Care Hub account information, click on Your Profile or Account Settings in the top right-hand corner of home page. Select the Care Hub Information dropdown to view your Care Hub Settings and Members like shown below.

A Care Hub serves as the shared workspace focused on a single care receiver. Each hub consists of:

  • Exactly one owner

  • Any number of members

  • A designated care receiver (a hub profile name, not an active application user)

'Owner' and 'Caregiver' are separate settings. The Caregiver toggle only changes what's shown to you, it does not grant or remove any permissions.

Viewing a hub you don't own requires that hub's owner to have an active subscription. If the owner's subscription lapses, members keep their own account, but the hub's content becomes unavailable, and a banner will name the owner responsible. Only the owner can resolve this.

Managing Your Care Hub

Edit Care Hub Name

To update the Care Hub name, click on the Care Hub Settings in the dropdown. You can only update the Care Hub name if you own the hub.

Leave Your Care Hub

In the Care Hub Settings, you can leave the hub only as long as no other members are added. If there are other members, you must promote someone else to owner first.

Promote User

To promote another user to owner:

  1. Select the Care Hub Member in the Members list.

  2. Click Promote to Care Hub Owner below Manage User.

  3. Follow the prompts.

  4. Click Continue to promote the member.

After promoting another user, click on the Care Hub settings again, and click Leave.

Adding Care Hub Member

Reminder: Adding a Care Hub member requires an active Avanlee App subscription.

Care Hub members are different from your Support Team in the Wellness Module. Your Support Team is made up of people you personally choose to keep updated on your own wellness journey, and they don't need to be part of your Care Hub. See Understanding the Wellness Module for more information on your Support Team.

To add a Care Hub Member, follow these few steps:

  1. Click the blue plus icon above Care Hub Members.

  2. Enter the new member's contact information (name, and email or phone number).

  3. Select Caregiver or Care Receiver.

  4. Have new member open the Care Hub invite from their email or messages.

  5. New member click Accept the Invitation.

  6. New member can Create Their Profile.

Once they’ve accepted their invitation and joined, you’ll see their name in your care hub members.

If you invite a member by text message, the app pre-fills a text but you have to send it yourself. If you close the message screen without sending, the invitation still shows as outstanding, but it was never actually delivered. Send the text again to complete it.

Email invitations are sent automatically and don't have this issue.

Removing a Care Hub Member

To remove a Care Hub member, select on the member and click Remove.

Multiple Care Hub Accounts

Reminder: you must be subscribed to the Avanlee App to add an additional Care Hub account.

To add an additional Care Hub account, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Care Hub Settings.

  2. Click the blue plus icon.

  3. Enter in new Care Hub information.

If you have multiple hubs, you can toggle between them individually. You only see one hub's data at a time, if something you expect to see is missing, you may be viewing a different hub than you think.

If you join a second Care Hub without your own subscription, you will be permanently removed from your current hub. The app will warn you before this happens.
